Professor David Maguire's blog post, Learning from lockdown: harnessing tech to improve the student experience, talks of four levels of digitally enabled teaching and learning. Most of us are at level 2, some are at level 3 where 'curricula and pedagogic models used for teaching, learning and are extended with active use of technology. He argues that we need to get to level 4 where courses are 'digital first'. At level 4, there is 'a higher degree of flexibility, student interaction, peer-to-peer learning and personalisation with accordant deep learning'. The author is involved in the Jisc project Learning and teaching re-imagined.
