This article, Blended learning is the way forward after pandemic, appeared in University World News on 30 May. It suggests a model for how a blended learning course might look. As in Hong Kong, there is the problem that it doesn't conform to the sectoral regulator's specification for university courses so there may be a need to tinker with these rules.
This option is possible in Hong Kong under certain conditions thanks to a 'blended learning' arrangement that is already in place but not yet widely used. The author says that: 'Teacher capacity is key, but we must also change our mindset about teaching and learning as just a same time, same place activity.'
I am looking forward to hearing about new ways of designing courses in blended learning mode. Vivian Chen and I will also be talking about the way we tried to do this.
