About The Event

 CUHK LAW would like to invite you to participate in ‘Directions in Legal Education 2020’ Online Conference on 18, 19 & 20 June 2020. 

The registration for the Directions in Legal Education 2020 Online Conference is available on the Conference webpage (Participant Registration). 

We have a full and stimulating 3-day programme and an exciting line up of speakers (over 40 presentations). Panels include: Students as Producers; Women in Law; Legal Education and Employability; Law, Technology and Going Online; Diversity in Legal Education; Pedagogy; Innovative Subjects in Legal Education. Each speaker will have 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A.

As at the two previous conferences there are a number of distinguished lead and keynote speakers including Professor Richard Susskind OBE (Honorary Professor, UCL), Professor Michael Martinek (Director of the Institute of European Law, Professor, University of Saarland in Saarbrücken), and Professor Geraint Howells (Professor of Commercial Law University of Manchester and Former Dean of Law at the City University, Hong Kong). 

Professor Richard Susskind OBE, to be keynote speaker at CUHK LAW “Directions of Legal Education Conference”

Professor Susskind, foremost commentator in the English-speaking world on the future of professional service and, in particular, the way in which the IT and the Internet are changing the work of lawyers, will present a keynote address online, on Friday 19 June, 5.30-6.30 (HK Time). 

One of the main events will be, as usual, the Great Debate, which will consider the recurring theme 'Teaching law in time of crisis - it’s not just going on-line'. 

The conference is free of charge; please feel free to share this event with interested persons.
